RESTAURANTS

Grace Bay area

Calico Jacks -- An old resident of Ports of Call this is THE place to be on Friday night when the whole plaza rocks with live music. Join locals and visitors alike dancing under the stars.

Barefoot café -- A long time favourite for breakfast and lunch. New owners have expanded the menu and this is fast becoming a popular casual evening restaurant.

Caicos Cafe -- Open air Caribbean dining with a French touch. Fresh fish every day served the way you like it and always good music. Clare's favourite place!

Bambooz -- Located at the Saltmills plaza this is where you will find the Dive Provo staff for Happy Hour. Big screen TV's and friendly bar staff make it a good place to unwind or talk about your adventures at the end of the day.

Bonnies -- A small bar/restaurant heading on the corner heading out of Grace Bay into The Bight. Benneth Williams is an excellent host. Check your e-mail while enjoying a cold beer, or enjoy basic island fare at very reasonable prices. Watch out for Fridays when it is Happy Hour all day!

Hemingways -- Open air at The Sands on Grace Bay. Friendly staff combined with good food and THE best spot for sunset make this restaurant a big winner.

Mango Reef -- Located poolside at the Royal West Indies Resort, this restaurant offers great value and an eclectic menu with an asian influence. You could eat here every evening and not get bored with the food.

Turtle Cove Area

Aqua -- In the heart of Turtle Cove on the water this restaurant serves coffee ground tuna. Sounds strange, but it is wonderful. A treat not to be missed.

Tiki Hut -- Moved from its old location now occupied by Aqua this casual waterside eatery is always a hit. Reasonable prices, large portions and a great location.

Bugaloo
Bugaloo, Da Conch Shack
Blue Hills Area

There are numerous conch shacks and small restaurants in this area.

"Da Conch Shack" (previously Bugaloo's) makes probably the freshest conch salad on the island, and you can supervise the process from picking the conch to cleaning and preparation for serving in a plastic bowl. Da Conch Shack does conch any way you like it, and some other basic island fare. Enjoy a beautiful place to sit and have a cold drink while enjoying this Caribbean delicacy and good company.

Smokeys On The Bay -- On the water in the settlement of Blue Hills, Smokey's offers the option of dining indoors or over the street in open air cabanas built over the beach. Cracked Conch, fish, and chicken dishes are always popular, plus that ever present cold beer or the drink of the islands, rum and coke.

3 Queens bar and restaurant -- Great food and a true locals hangout. Not the place for peace and quiet if there is a dominoes game on the go!

Ask the staff for advice on where to go. Restaurants have "specials" nights and there is always competition for the best "Happy Hour" deal.
